There have been safety concerns about Glen Onoko for years, most of them due to unprepared knuckleheads, but closing it is not the right reaction. (Do you think this will keep people out? And the kind of people who still go will be more likely to make irresponsible decisions, AND requires Game Commission employees to patrol it anyway!) can sign the petition to keep it open here. It's getting close to the goal!

Keep Glen Onoko Falls Open
I finally got to this place a couple yeas ago in the winter (photos here.) It's amazing and I'm glad it's finally becoming better known. When I was there there was a lot of ice, but as long as everyone was being smart - which they were - there was no problem. It's not only a great natural resource, it's also an economic resource for the people of Jim Thorpe, who should be most angry about this.
