Kingsbury North Section, Tahoe Rim Trail

Late April is a little early for the TRT, even the lower-elevation sections on the Nevada side, but as the snow melts I was eager to resume my circumnavigation of the Tahoe Rim Trail (last posted installment here.) I barely got in 5 miles and just about the whole last mile was snow, deep enough for post-holing. Will probably be a lot more manageable by mid-May. It was cold though and actually flurried a bit while I was on trail.

Below: Tahoerimtrailhenge. It is said the ancients used it on the first day of summer...FOR PEE PEE (tee hee)

Above: it's not a weekend unless you get to the snowline, or 10,000'. Unfortunately it didn't take long to get to the snow.
