Roberto Matta, The Earth Is A Man (inspired by Mexican landscape)

I'm a big fan of his more detailed, anxiety-provoking mechanical-looking stuff (see Être avec or Être cible nous monde) with a "broken" three dimensional feel (in the same way that cubism seems like pieces of broken planes.) That I know of he didn't do a lot of landscape-inspired pieces and this one is nice. The flowers and the desert rocks are properly prominent and the sun actually feels unpleasantly bright and hot.
