Ricketts Glen Waterfall Hike, Northeast Pennsylvania
Not my video, from user guided_by_veggies on the Pennsylvania subreddit. Frustratingly I only learned about this hike after I moved out of Pennsylvania, but ONE DAY... PAians, you don't know what you have there.

The Longest Continuous Running Route
...is a hair under 14,000 miles, from Capetown South Africa to Magadan Russia (see here.) So when is someone going to do it?

The Worst Running Project Yet
This person is very immature. I certainly didn't laugh at all as I was reading this, nor am I still laughing right now. If you also want to see and disapprove of the terrible, terrible people in this world, read here about Dick Run Claire. (Also: turns out Strava art is a thing, and she is merely its most nefarious practitioner.)

Winter in the Sierra Foothills
Taken on the Western States Trail (or whatever this trail is, you know, it's the one in Auburn, near the Confluence, at the top of Training Hill on the way to Cool.) This was during a nice break in the (much needed) January rains that have been soaking Norcal. (Here is more of the Central Valley and Sierra foothills in all four seasons.)
Top is January, middle is April, bottom is October.

Altitude Plus Exertion (Including Associated Poor Sleep and Dehydration) Interact to Produce Cognitive Deficits
Outside Magazine summary here, PLOSOne study here. I strongly suspect that poor sleep at altitude is a (the?) major contributor to this, but in a multi-day climb like Kilimanjaro, I see no solution - wearing an O2 mask when you go to bed in your tent? Yeah, that sounds like the solution to restful sleep!

The Tesla Ultramarathon
Some joker in New York ran a 74-mile route, passing historical locations where Nikola Tesla worked. Normally I make fun of my fellow running project comrades but since I got all excited when I stumbled on the Faraday Monument (an actual Faraday Cage in a roundabout in London, on my Run Between the Hemispheres) I guess I can't say anything.
